Acclaimed for her rock solid “voice and technique” (Opera News) as well as for her “luxuriant and clear” voice, (San Francisco Chronicle) Soprano Lise Lindstrom is making a name for herself with her dramatic portrayals at opera houses around the globe. During the 2011 - 2012 season Ms. Lindstrom makes three company debuts as Turandot - first with Lyric Opera of Kansas City, followed by the Florentine Opera, and finally at Austin Lyric Opera at the end of the season. She returns to San Diego Opera, where she debuted last season, during the New Year as the title role in Salome, and then makes her debut with the Polish National Opera in Warsaw as Senta in Der fliegende Holländer.

A highlight of her 2010 - 2011 season was the soprano’s debut with Teatro alla Scala in Milan as Turandot, a role that is quickly becoming one of her signatures and earning her rave reviews wherever she goes. Concertonet.com wrote “Lindstrom joins the limited list of distinguished dramatic sopranos who accomplish the demands of Turandot...[her] presence is dynamic.” Opera Today proclaimed “Lindstrom is in exclusive company: singers that can easily clear the steep crests of Turandot. Her voice is penetrating and interesting, warming to the ears as the night progressed.”  Additional performances of Turandot during the season included a return engagement with the Deutsche Opera Berlin and for her debuts with both San Diego Opera and Florida Grand Opera. She also portrayed Ricke in Franchetti’s Germania with Deutsche Oper Berlin.

The 2009 - 2010 season proved to be a significant one in Ms. Lindstrom’s career, as it included two major debuts. The first was a house debut with The Metropolitan Opera where she performed as Turandot. The New York Post wrote “the tall, slender Lindstrom wielded the icy glamour of a '30s film star, working the trains and veils of her elaborate costumes with the panache of a runway model,” and The New York Observer remarked of her “assured, vocally gleaming performance.” Her second major debut of the season was a house and role debut as Tosca with Glimmerglass Opera prompting The New York Times to rave “The soprano Lise Lindstrom brought a cool allure to the title role, her focused and steely voice flaring into palpable fire when it was called for.” Further engagements during the season included Turandot with De Nederlandse Opera, Festival de Ópera de A Coruña, and for a return engagement with the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In addition, she joined the New Orleans Opera as Senta in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and the Cathedral Choral Society for Verdi’s Requiem at the Washington National Cathedral.

Highlights of recent seasons include her breathtaking portrayals of Turandot which audiences have enjoyed from the Deutsche Oper Berlin, to Opera Hong Kong and to Palm Beach Opera. She portrayed Elisabeth and Venus in Tannhäuser with the Greek National Opera, the title role of Suor Angelica with Opera Tampa, Senta in Der fliegende Holländer with Utah Opera, Magda in The Consul with Arizona Opera, Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos with Des Moines Metro Opera, the title role in Salome for her debut with the Teatro Regio di Torino, and Ricke in Germania at the Deutsche Oper Berlin for her European debut. Memorable performances on the concert stage include the final scene in Salome with the San Francisco Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas, the premiere performance of John Beeman’s Dos Retablos at New York’s Bard College, Richard Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder at a gala concert in San Francisco, as well as performances with the Sonora Bach Festival in California and a concert with mezzo-soprano Federica von Stade alongside pianist Martin Katz, among others.
